of the Parish of St. Mary Somersett
London , and the Churchwardens and
Overseers, of the Poor of the Parish of St. Nichas
Cole Abbey London respectively.

WHEREAS Complaint hath this Day been made
unto us two of His Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for this City, and the Liberties thereof (Quorum
unus) by You the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of St. Mary Somerset
London, That Elizabeth< no role > the wife of Richard Mortarshell
Widow of Richard Mortarshell< no role > deced is now resident
in
your said Parish not having obtained any
legal Settlement there, and is likely to become charge-
able thereto by reason of her age and poverty
unless timely prevented,
which Complaint we adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appears unto us by the Oath of the said Elizabeth
Mortars hell that shedwell in the Parish of St. Nicholas
Cole abbey London by the Space of forty daies and upwards
next imediately, before the nineteenth day of May one thousands
Six [..] hundred eighty and five and hath
not obtained any subsequent Settlement. We the said Ju-
stices are therefore of Opinion, and do adjudge the last
legal Settlement of the said Elizabeth Mortars hell
to be in the said
Parish of St. Nichas Cole Abbey London and
that thitherto she ought by Law to be sent.

THESE are therefore in His. Majesty's Name to re-
quire You to remove and convey the said Elizabeth & Mortarshell
from and out of your said Parish of St. Mary Somerset
London, to the said Parish of St. Nicholas Cole Abbey
London and her leave with the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor there, or one of them, who is and
are hereby required to receive and provide for her
according to Law. Hereof fail not, and this shall be your
Warrant. Given under our Hands and Seals the fourth
Day of Aprill Anno Domini 1721 .
