Examination TextJohn Smith aged 31 Years removed from St James at Clerkenwell upon his Oath saith that he lived in & rented a House Known by the Sign of the Cock & Bottle Maker in the Strand in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields within the Liberty of Westminster from Midsummer to Christmas 1788 at the Yearly Rent of Seventy Pounds the said Taxes since he quitted , which he has not Kept House rented Ten Pounds by the Year not done any Act to gain a subsequent Settlement , that he was married to his present wife Elizabeth act to the Parish Church ofSt Andrew Holborn on the 20th Day of April last by whom he hath one Child to wit William Born October the 21st/92.
