Examination TextElizabeth Brown aged 22 Years upon her Oath saith that she was never Married nor bound Apprentice , that she was a Yearly hired Servant with Mrs Ann Parker at the Sign of the Coach and Horses, in Saint Martin Lane in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields for the space of Two Years & upwards all under one hiring at the Yearly Wages of ffour Pounds the first & 5 Pounds for the second Year Diet & lodging quitted the same at Midsummer 1787 since which she had not been a Yearly hired Servant in any one place for Twelve Months together more done any Act to gain a subsequent Settlement. And this Examinant upon her voluntary Oath further saith that she is no great with Child or Children , which is or are likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards & to become chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields and that John Talbot a Bricklayer & works for Mr Snow in King St Westminster had several Times carnal Knowledge of her Body and that one of which Times did beget her with the Child or Children she now goeth with and is Pregnant of and that he the said John Talbot is the true & only ffather thereof & no Man else.
