This Indenture Witnesseth that William Davis< no role > & Edward Clark< no role > Churchwardens
John Henley< no role > John Hughes< no role > John Lacey< no role > & Samll: Whitmore< no role > Overseers of the poore of the
parish of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middx with the assent of Hugh Chamberlen< no role > &
Leonard Hancock< no role > Esqrs Justices of the peace for the County of Middx & Citty & liberty of
Westmr. according to the forme of the Statute in that case made & provided have putt
Anne Harriotts< no role > Apprentice to Mary Iles< no role > & with her after the manner of an apprentice
to dwell & serve from the day of the date hereof unto the full end & terme of Eight
yeares from theme next ensueing & fully to be compleate & ended Dureing all which
said terme Wee the Churchwardens & Overseers of the poore with the assent
aforesaid Doe order the said apprentice well & faithfully her said Mirs: shall serve
her secretts keepe her Comandmts: lawfull & honest every where shall gladly doe
hert to her said Mirs: shee shall not doe nor consent to be done of others but that
shee to her power shall prvent the same or else from time to time admonish
her thereof the goods of her said Mirs: shee shall not wast nor them to any body
lend without her consent neither from her service by day or night shall not
absent herself Taverns or Alehouses shee shall not frequent At cards dire
or any other unlawfull game shee shall not play whereby her sd. Mirs: may
receive any prsudice fornicacon shee shall not comitt Matrimony dureing
the said terme she shall not contract, but in all things as a good & faithfull
Servt . ought to doe shall behave herself towards her said Mirs: & all hers dureing
the said terme And the said Mary Iles< no role > shall teach & instruct or cause to be
taught & instructed her said Apprentice in housewifrie according to her best Skill
& knowledge And shall give to & provide for her said Apprentice sufficient
meate drink washing lodging apparrell and all other necessaryes meet
and convenient for Such an Apprentice dureing the Said terme And for
the true performance of all the Articles in forme aforesaid to be kept
the said parties to these prsent Indentures bind themselves each to other by
these prsents. In witnesse whereof the said parties to these prsent
Indentures have Interchangeably sett their hands & Seales the Thirtieth
day of July in the Fourth yeare of the reigne of King William & Queene Mary
over England Etc: Annoqz Dui 1692
