This Indenture Witnesseth That Hugh Mills< no role > & Thomas Kirkham< no role >
Churchwardens Phillip Pinckney< no role > Benjamin Harvy< no role > John Dorrill< no role > & Mathew Beaver< no role >
Overseers of the poore of the parish of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middx
with the Assent of Hugh Chanberlen< no role > & William Bridgman< no role > Esqrs : Justices of the
peace for the County of Middx & of Citty & Liberty of Westminster according to the
Statute in that case made & pvided have put Ann Harriotts a poore Orphan
Apprentice to Elmor Philip the wife of William Philip with her after the
manner of an Apprentice to dwell & serve from the day of the date hereof
unto the full end & terme of Seaven yeares from thence next ensueing & fully to
be compleate & ended Dureing all which said terme wee the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the poore with the assent aforesaid Doe order & appointe the
Said Anne Harriotts well & faithfully her said Mistresse shall serve her Socretts
keepe her Comandments lawfull & honest every where Shall gladly doe
hurt to her Said Mrs. Shee Shall not doe nor consent to be done of others but
that Shee to her power shall prvent to the Same or else from time to time
admonish her thereof the goods of her said Mrs. Shee Shall not wast nor them
to any body lend without her consent neither from her Service by day nor
night Shall not absent herself Taverns or alehouses Shee Shall not
frequent att Cards Dice or any other unlawfull game Shee Shall not
play whereby her Mrs. may receive any prsudice [..] but in all things as a
good & faithfull Servant ought to doe Shall behave herself towards
her Said Mrs. and all hers dureing the said terme And the said
Elmor Philp Shall teach & instruct her Said Apprentice in Houswifrie
according to the best of her Skill & knowledge And Shall give to and
pvides for her said apprentice Sufficient meale drink washing
lodging Apparrell Linnen & all other necessaryes meet & Convenient
for Such an Apprentice dureing the Said terme And for the true
performance of all the Articles informe aforesaid to be kept the
Said parties to these Indentures bind themselves oath to other by
these prsents In witnesse whereof the parties to these prsent Indentures
have Interchangeably sett their hands & Seales the twenty Seaventh
day of June Anno Dui 1694 and in the sixth yeare of the reigne of
King William & Queene Mary over England Etc.
