The Examination of Martha Blie< no role > liveing in the Parish
of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middx taken the 25th.
Day of February 1740 Who upon her Oath saith that She is a
Singlewoman & was never Marryed & that about 3 Years
Since She lived a Yearly hired Servt . with one Mr. Palmer a
Cooke for the Space of one Year & upwards at the Yearly Wages
of four Pounds ten Shillings & further on her Oath saith that
She lived with the sd. Mr. Palmer the last Six Months of her
sd. Service in Carter Lane in the Parish of St. Gregory by St-
Paul in the City of London and hath not Since She left the
said Mr. Palmer's Service Rented any House pd. Parish Taxes
lived with any Person as a yearly hired Servt. for one Year
or otherwise gain'd a Settlement in any other Place to her
knowledge or beleife & haveing a Sore Breast is not able
to provide for herself
