The Examination of Martha Monfort< no role > who was found
wandering in the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the County
of Middx haveing no Habitation or Place of Abode taken
the 10th. Day of March 1740 Who upon her Oath saith that
she is a Singlewoman & was never married & that abt. eight
Years ago she lived as a Yearly hired Servt . with the Right
Honorable the Earl of Orrery at the Yearly Wages of Six
Pounds for the Space of one Year & upwards & further on her
Oath saith that She lived with the sd. Right Honorable
the Earle of Orrery the last Six Months of her sd. Service
in Downing Street in the Parish of St. Margaret in the
City of Westminster that she hath not since She left
her sd. Service rented ten Pounds a Year pd. Parish Taxes
lived with any other Person as a Yearly hired Servt. for
the Space of one Year or otherwise gained a Settlement
in any other Place to her Knowledge or beleife & being Poor
& Sick is not able to maintaine herselfe
