The Examination of Mary Lacey< no role > aged about
Eighteen Years who was found wandering in the
Parish of St. Clement Danes in the County of
Middx taken the 6th. Day of March 1740 Who upon
her Oath saith that She is a Singlewoman & was
never married & that about three Years ago she was
bound an Apprentice to one Mr. Thos. Wright< no role >
of the Parish of East Ham in the County of
Essex Indigo maker and served him as an
Apprentice for the Space of one Year or thereabouts
And further on her Oath saith that She hath not
since She left her sd. Master rented ten Pounds a
Year paid parish Taxes lived with any Person
as a Yearly hired Servant for the Space of one
Year or otherwise gained a Settlement in any
other Place to her knowledge or beleife and
being Poor & Sick is not able to maintaine herselfe
