The Examination of Rachel Herbert< no role > This name instance is in set 1120. Singlewoman aged twenty four
Years who was found wandring in the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the
County of Middx having no Habitation or Place of Abode taken the 30th. Day of January
1740 Who upon her Oath saith that Her Father John
Herbert
< no role > Deceased was by Indenture bearing Date the
2d. Day of February 1686 bound an Apprentice to and
served seven Years Apprentiship with one Mr. Sayer
in the Parish of great Marlow in the County of Bucks
Baskett Maker as appears by the Examination of Alice
Herbert
< no role > her Mother also Deceased taken upon Oath
the 31st. Day of August 1736 before Thos. Lane< no role > and
Peter Guerin< no role > Esqr . two of his Majestys Justices of the
Peace for the said County of Middx , And further saith
that her said Father never Rented ten Pounds a Year
paid Parish Taxes or lived with any Person as a
Yearly hired Servant for the Space of one Year, And this
Examinant further on her Oath saith that when she [..]
abt. ten Years of Age she was put to one Mrs. Clare
Bates

learn Plain Work but under what Agreement knows
not save that she hath heard her Mother say her Mistress
