came into the Parish. But it appeared that Mr. Dighton
came into this Parish at Lady Day 1748 and continued
an Inhabitant till Xmas 1751 and that he Re-enter'd
at Michmas 1767 and during that Interval had resided
about Eight years in another part of the Ward without
having served the said Offices. Mr. Dighton was then
put up and Chose Constable and Inquest Man for
the Year ensuing.

Mr. Maynard observed that he had lately met with
Misfortunes, and therefore moved, that Mr. Long be
excused from Serving the Offices of Constable and
Inquest Man for one Year, and being Seconded the
Question was put and carried in the Affirmative.
and It was ordered according to the said Motion.
Then Mr. Joseph Richardson< no role >
was put up and
Chose Constable and Inquest man. But Mr. Rich-
-ardson desired to be excused from Serving the said
Offices upon payment of the usual Fine of Fourteen
Pounds. A Motion being thereupon made, and the
Question put It was ordered that Mr. Richardson be
excused from serving the said Offices upon payment
of the usual Fine of Fourteen Pounds.

acquainted the Gentlemen present
that the same Reasons for which Mr. Long had been
excused from serving the Offices of Constable and
Inquest Man were also to be given in favor of Mr.
Jeffery. to wit, that he was in distressed Circumstances
Mr. James therefore moved that Mr. Jeffery be excused
from serving the said Offices for one Year And being
Seconded by Mr. Chauntrell the Question was put
and carried in the Affirmative and it was Ordered
According to the said Motion.

Jeffery. But Mr. Robins desired leave to Fine. A
