Examination TextMary Nicoldson aged 42 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Samuel Nicoldson (who has been gone from her two years) to whom she was married at the Fleet seven years ago, that he is a Shoemaker by true trade and that she this Examinant has heard her husband say that he served his time as an apprentice to [blank] Ware a Shoemaker in Heath Cock Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid and there served all his time out, but how long ago since she this Examinant can't tell, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the eighth day of December 1749.
