Examination TextHarry Gregory aged 47 years lodging at Mrs Moody in Bayly's Alley in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that he is a Shoemaker by trade and learnt the same his father, Richard Gregory who lived in and rented an house in Red Lyon Court in Drury Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of two years at the yearly rent of 10 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 43 years ago and that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes since (as he this Examinant has heard his father say), that he this Examinant was married to his present wife Sarah at the Fleet two years ago by whom he has no children living. Sworn the 16th Day of October 1749 before James Fraser.
