Examination TextAlice Legg aged about 50 years upon her oath saith that she was in Hungerford Market in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields last night, and that she is the widow of Simon Legg (who has been dead about 14 years) to whom she was married at the ffleet about 25 years ago, that he was a Waterman by trade and was bound an apprentice by seven years to his Father John Legg, a Waterman who lived in Brewhouse Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid and there served all his time out which expired about 29 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, nor hath she this Examinant since her said husband's death. Sworn the 12th day of January 1750 before James Fraser.
