Examination TextThomas Dorton aged about 42 years lodging at a house let out in tenements in the Hop Garden in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he was a yearly hired servant to Mr Wolfris at the Bulls Head in the corner of Chandos Street in St Martin's Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one year and an half at the yearly wages of 3 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 20 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Ayme [sic] at the ffleet about 15 years ago by whom he hath no children living. Sworn the first Day of January 1754 before Benjamin Cox.
