Examination Text | Richard Lydell aged 39 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his father Richard Lydell was a Glass Grinder and Polisher by trade and lived in and rented an house in Cross Lane in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of four years and an half at the yearly rent of 10 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same 38 years ago (as p. his father's examination) and then went into the workhouse of and belonging to the Parish aforesaid. Sworn the fifth day of January 1758 before Thomas Kynaston. |
