Examination Text | Susannah Gilbert aged about 57 years lodging at Mr Thacker's a Peruke Maker in Whitcombe Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Richard Gilbert (who died in the month of April which was in the year 1750), that since his death having no children living she this Examinant was a yearly hired servant to Mr Levy a Carver in Green Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of four years and upwards at the yearly wages of 3 pounds and 10 shillings diet and lodging, quitted the same about four months ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since. Sworn the 3d day of February 1758 before Benjamin Cox. |
