Examination TextElizabeth Grant aged about 27 years upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Robert Grant, ill in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, to whom she was married at St Martin's Church in this Parish the 15th Day of July in the year 1759, that her said husband is a Sweep Washer by trade and lived in and rented an house in Langley Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of six years and upwards at the yearly rent of 14 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about midsummer last, that her husband hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that she hath three children by her said husband to wit Judith aged 10 years and upwards now with this Examinant, Mary aged nine years and upwards now in Hungerford School, and Sarah aged six years and upwards now with Mr Pearce, Sweep Washer in [Jewin] Street. Sworn the seventh Day of January 1771 before Peter Planck.
