Examination Text | Ann Gilchrist aged 32 years and upwards lodging at Mr Wade's, Chandler in Church Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of James Gilchrist (gone from her) to whom she was married at St Martin's Church in this Parish the 24th Day of February in the year 1763, that her said husband was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Doig, Hair Merchant in Panton Street in the Parish aforesaid and there served his said Master all the said term out, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the expiration of his said apprenticeship to this Examinant's knowledge, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit George James aged two years and upwards now with this Examinant.
