Ordered That it be recommended to the several Commence not to
Contract with any Person for New Paving any Carriage or Footways unless
they are well Satisfied that such Person has Materials for doing the same

Westminster Bridge
Office March 17th. 1772.
Ordered, That the Carriage Way of Great Shire Lane be paved
with Sized Pebbles from 6 to 8 Inches deep or old Materials and the
Footways with Purbeck or Yorkshire Elland Edge Paving not less the
2 Inches thick with a Moor Stone Kirb 12. In. by 8. and not less than
feet Long.
That the Making the Level, laying out and paving the said Lane
done under the direction of the Surveyor to the Commissioners.
That the Committee for the Parish of St. Clement Danes
do Advertise
Contract for the Paving so much of the Carriage and Footways of the said Lane
lies within that Parish with the Materials abovementioned, and for keeping the
part of the Carriage Way of the said Lane above described in repair if they think
proper.
That the Commissioners do Advertise and Contract for Paving so [..]
of the said Lane as lies within the Liberty of the Rolls
with the Materials
abovementioned.
