From the Commissioners for Paving Westminster Etc
Westminster Bridge Office March 10th. 1772.

Ordered That is be Recommended to the several Committees to take into
their Consideration whether one or two Posts are necessary at the Corners of the
Streets and Places in their respective Parishes that are already New Paved or
that shall hereafter be New Paved, instead of the Commissioners order of the
6th. Inst.

Took into Consideration the Minutes of the Committee for the Parish
of Saint Clement Danes Dated the 21st. Febry. last and delivered in the 25th. wherein
is a Recommendation to the Commissioners to Pave so much of Sheffield Street as
lies in that Parish with Pebbles from 9 to 12 Inches Deep and Holles Street and
the Returns with Old Materials.

Also took into Consideration the Order of last Meeting respecting the
referrence to the Parishes of St. Giles and St. George Bloomsbury and St Clement
Danes concerning the amount of the Rate in Sheffield Street belonging to
each Parish and likewise a Return of the Rents of Houses in the said Street
this Day delivered in (in pursuance of such Order) as follows Vizt.

Ordered that Sheffield Street be paved under the direction of the Committee
for the Parish of St. Clement Danes .

Ordered That the Carriage Way of Sheffield Street be Paved with Pebbles
from 9. to 12 Inches Deep.

That the Carriage Way of Holles Street and the Returns belonging thereto
be paved with Old Materials.

That the Footways of the above Streets be paved with Purbeck or Yarkshire
Elland Edge Paving 2 Inches thick and a Moor Stone Kirb 12 Inches by 8 & 3
Feet Long.

That the Making the Level laying out and paving the said Streets be
done under the direction of the Surveyor to the Commrs.

That the Commee. for the Parish of St. Clement Danes do Advertize & Contract
for Paving the Carriage & Footways of the said Street in Manner beforementioned &
for keeping the Carriage Ways thereof in repair if they think proper.
