Complaint having been made to the Commrs- That the Strand is
very much out of Repair, It was ordered, That it be Recommended
to the Committee for the Parish of Saint Clement Danes to give
Mr. Campbell notice forthwith to repair that part of the Strand
which lies in their Parish

Office Decr. 24th- 1771
Ordered That the several Committees be acquainted that the
Commissioners cannot pay any money on Account
Ordered That it be recommended to the several Committees
to lay before the Commissioners, as soon as possible, an Account of such
Squares Streets and Places in their respective Parishes and Places
as they shall think necessary to be Paved during the ensuing Summer
A Minute of the Committee for the Parish of Saint Clement Danes
dated the 9th- Instant (and which was delivered in at the last Meeting
was read wherein amongst other things is set forth That on Account
of the Great Number of Cattle Drove thro' Portugal Street and the
Cattle being divided there for the Slaughter Houses it will be proper
that Posts and Rails should be setup on the Outside of the
Foot Pavement against the Dead Wall of the Burying
Ground there as formerly, and that the Church Wardens may have
liberty to put down such Posts and Rails for the Protection of
the Public
Ordered that the Church Wardens of the above Parish have Liberty
to put down such Posts and Rails for the purpose abovementioned
A Certificate signed by three Committeemen of the above
Parish dated the 18th- Instant That a Bill of £56..8s 9d (under
which the Certificate is wrote) is due to Thomas Lovett< no role >
and
William Meredith< no role >
for Repairs done in Water Street Worcester Street
and Essex Street
was delivered in
Ordered that the above Bill and Certificate be returned back
to the Committee for the above Parish there being some mistakes
therein
