Informations taken this 25th March
1762 on an Inquisition on View of the
Body of Gilbert Cocks< no role > lying dead at the
Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields within
the Liberty of Westminster taken before
Thomas Prickard< no role > his Majesty's Coroner for
the said Liberty.

Robert Goodland< no role > of James Street near the
Hay Market one of the Marshals Court
Officers on his Oath Saith that when Deponent
came home between one and two on last
Tuesday after noon he found the deced
at his House left there together with a
Woman one Elizabeth Gaines< no role > who hadboth
been arrested by Peter Lympass< no role > another
Marshals Court Officer and left there
for atfor a Debt due to Jonathan Cope< no role > for
fifty twotwenty six pounds. says when he came in the
deced was ill and [..] speechless upon
which Deponent caused the deced to be laid on
a Bed and [..] ed over warm and sent for
Mr. Baron a Chymist who administred a
Draught to the deced says he went out soon
after Dinner and did not return Home till
about ten at night when he found the
deced dead.

Marshall's Court Officer on his Oath Saith
that on Tuesday Morning about nine of the
Clock dept. arrested the deced and one Elizabeth
Gaines
< no role > for a Debt of twenty six Pounds due to
Jonathan Cope< no role > says he brot. them both to
Mr. Robert Goodland< no role > 's House (another Marshal
Court Officer) and left them to the Care of Mr.
Goodland's Wife says the deced appeared to be
confined which he apprehended to be on his
being arrested, but not as a person then shuck with death
