to Wit.


An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of
St. Martin in the Fields , in the County of Middlesex within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate
Church of St. Peter at Westminster , the twenty fifth day of March in the Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth,
before Thomas Prickard< no role > Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty on View of the Body
of Gilbert Cocks< no role > then and there lying Dead, upon the Oath of Philip Cole< no role > John Harris< no role > Richard Sheffeld< no role > , Thomas Bear< no role >

Liberty, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the
King, how and by what means the said Gilbert Cockscame to his Death, do upon their Oath say,
That the said Gilbert Cocks on the Twenty third day of March in the Year aforesaid, being a Prisoner in the
Custody of Robert Goodland< no role > one of the Officers of the Marshall's Court at the dwelling House of the said Robert

< no role > in James Street in the said Parish of St. Martin in the Fields within the Liberty aforesaid, on a certain
Process then lately before Issued out of the Marshall's Court at the Suit of Jonathan Cope< no role > for the Sum of Twenty six
Pounds, on the Day and Year aforesaid there dyed by the Visitation of God a Natural Death. In Witness
whereof as well the said Coroner, as the said Philip Cole< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors, on the behalf of
himself and the rest of his said Fellows, in their presence, have to this Inquisition set their Hands and
Seals the Day Year and Place abovementioned.
