Wee have alsoe agreed with Mr: James Pitman< no role > our Tennant of the other
two late houses and next to the said Bartelotts by Lease expiring at
Lady day 1690. That in considracon of his surrendring the said
former Lease and of the Fine of £100. to bee paid att Lady day next
and new building an house on the peice of ground described in the
said plott for an house to bee built on the Northside of the said Bartelotts
intended to bee built house according to the rules and direccons prescribed for second rate
buildings in and by the late And of Parliament for rebuilding the Citty of
London Except the Backwall dividing this same from the Hospitall
which shalbee two bricks thick to the topp and makeing good all
damage to bee done to the Scite of the said Hospitall by occasion of
takeing downe any parte thereof in Order to the said building Hee
shall have a Lease of the said intended new house Excepting
Liberty for ps to lay Timbers in and beare upon the said intended
wall next the Hospitall for the life terme of One and Forty yeares
from Lady day next att the old rent of Eight pounds P ann to bee
paid without intermission

And the rest of the Tennants being only for Shopps some of their
Interests being determined and One bought in by us And the said
Henry Bartelott< no role > having agreed with and bought of John Wood< no role > his
interest in other shopps Wee have agreed with the said Henry Bartelott< no role >
That in consideracon of surrendring or assigning to our use the Lease
made to the said Wood and his interest in another shopp held under A
Lease made to one Middleton and the Fine of One Hundred and
Thirty pounds to bee paid att Lady day next And in consideracon of
new building two Tenements on the two parcells os ground lying next on
the Northside of the plott of the said Pitmans house according to the rules
and direccons prescribed for second rate buildings in and by the late
Act of Parliament for rebuilding the Citty of London Except the back
wall dividing the same from the Hospitall which shalbee two bricks thick
to the Topp and makeing good all Damage to bee done to the Scite of
the said Hospitall by occasion of takeing downe any parte thereof
in order to the said building Hee the said Henry Bartelott< no role > or his
assigns Shall have One or more Lease or Leases of the said Two intended
Tenements Excepting Libertie for us to lay Timbers in and beare upon
the said intended Wall next the Hospitall for One and Forty yeares
from Lady day next aforesaid att and under the yearely rent of Tenn
pounds (Vizt.) Five pounds for each house the First Quarters rent to bee
paid att Midsomer next Except any Interests names under the
former Leases

Wee have alsoe Provided that the said Gateway shalbee Eleaven
foote hight for the more decent and gracefull passage thereunto And
to the end the Ornaments may bee made according to the pleasure
of the Governors wee have taken the building of the said roomes
over the same into our own management And, the end the said
houses may bee built according to the said Agreements and the
Tennants observe all the said condicons therein Wee have provided
That none of the said Tennants shall have their Leases untill their
respective buildings bee performed accordingly.
