Evans in your Custody I said yes, - he asked me if any
thing could be done for him could he have any Liquor a
little something to Drink I told him I had nothing at
all to do with that for I never Ordered any Prisoner a
Pint of Beer since I had been in the Situation, Butcher
said he was very poorly, I then said the Doctor will
see him and he will Order every thing that is proper.
Butcher then said Can I see him I said it is rather
too late but if you desire to see him, I will send for
him I sent for Evans, Butcher after some little
Conversation said Evans how are you, he believes
Evans said so Evans did not stay more than 5.
Minutes I do not recollect that I had any other
Conversation with Mr.. Butcher at that time I think
that Raven and Butcher both went away together
about an hour afterwards but cannot be positive
the next time that I saw Evans was in the Room
under the Infirmary I do not recollect seeing him
afterwards I never heard any Conversation
about giving Webb any thing I never said that
