Thomas Aris< no role > the Governor of the
House of correction called in and Sworn; - Evan
Evans was brought into the House of correction
the 25th.. November 1796. late in the Evening I did
not see him till the middle of the next Day in the
Kitchen seeing him in the Kitchen I said to the
Men who is this Man here I was answered, it is
the Man who came in last Night for the Lottery
whar does he do here he say's he's not well the next
time I saw him was in the Room under the Infirmary
about 3. days after I do not recollect I ever saw him
again am sure I never saw him in the Infirmary
I was not at home when the Pardon came I saw
him a Day or two or Three after he was Committed
I saw him at my house on a Sunday afternoon
Mr.. Raven Dined with me a Person Rang at the
Bill and Enquired whether Mr.. Raven was there
Mr.. Raven heard somebody Enquiring for him, went
to the Door himself brought in Mr.. Butcher who he
introduced as his Friend, I asked him to sit down
Butcher said you have got a Man named Evan
