told me that Evans was ill, if there was any Conver-
-sation with Butcher in Mr.. Aris's presence it was when

present when Butcher applied for the Certificate

Henry Kay< no role > One of the Servants at the House
of Correction; - I remember a Man of the Name
of Evans coming to the House of correction about
9. o' Clock in the Evening, I was upon Duty that
Night, I received him, conducted him up Stairs
to where he was to sleep he complained of being
in a bad state of Health and mentioned the thinness
of the covering and was afraid from his bad state
of health of getting Cold, he asked me if I could
accommodate him with some more covering I told
him I could not get any more Blankets he
pressed me to get him some further covering I
then fetched him one of the Watch coats he was
very thankful for it, I bid him good Night next
Day I think I saw him in the Kitchen, he was
in the Kitchen two or Three day's and then went
into the Infirmary, Butcher was with him when
in the Kitchen I really thought the Man was ill
from his Appearance.

Joseph Ballard< no role > One of the Servants of the
House of Correction recollects Evans being in the
