to be much stronger and of better Workmanship than
the Cans which were purchased for the County at
twice the Expence.

And Your said Committee further Report That
being informed by Mr.. Aris that the Prisoners made a
practice of putting great Quantities of Oakum down the
Water Closets and that the County had lately been at much
Expence in Cleansing the same, that Mr.. Gale the County
Plumber had formed a plan for altering the Water
Closets which would in a great degree remedy the Evil.
Your Committee examined the Plan and directed Mr..
Gale to alter one of the Water Closets by way of Trial upon
his undertaking not to charge the county any Expence for
the same if the Alternation did not fully Answer.

And Your said Committee further Report that
it appearing by the Governors Jurnal that on the 26th..
day of July last the Meat by being over boiled was
reduced in Weight to four Ounces only for each Prisoner
they directed that particular care should be taken to
avoid such over boiling in future so that Six Ounces
of Dressed Meat at least be delivered (as nearly as may
be) to each Prisoner with the Broth.

And Your said Committee further Report that
they have directed the Water to the laid on in the Now
House lately built for a residence for the Governor and
that he should have liberty to use the Wash House
near the Inner Gates of the Prison.

And Your said Committee further Report
That being applied to by the Governor of the House of
Correction for several necessary Articles for the use of
the Prisoners they Resolved That Mr.. Aris should
have liberty to provide.
