confined in New Prison and Clerkenwell Bridewell are never Kept
under ground there being no places in either for that purpose

A Motion was made that this Court do approved
this part of the said Committees Report and the same was resolved
accordingly

Mr. Edward Hall< no role > the Governor of Clerkenwell Brid [..]
having informed the Committee that the Gateway of the said prison is
a Ruinous and dangerous State both as to passengers and the rest of
building And the Committee having Viewed and Examined the same
there appears to be a dangerous Settlement in the sameBrick Work
which forms the saidGateway and that unless the same be proper [..]
Secured it may prove fatal in its Consequences to some other pa [..]
of the Prison Wherefore the Committee Recommend that Mr.
Rogers do immediately & Effectually secure the same

A Motion was made that this Court do approve of
this part of the said Committees Report and the same was Resolved
accordingly

The said Committee further Report That
having taken into Consideration the proposal of Mr. Edward Hale< no role >
Governor of the House of Correction of Clerkenwell for keeping the
Prisoners committed to His Custody to hard Labour It is recommend [..]
by Your Committee that an Advertisement be inserted with a View
to obtain a proper proposal or Contract from some Manufacturer in
any branch of Trade to keep the persons committed to hard Labour
in the said prison in Constant Employment

A Motion was made that this Court do agree [..]
their said Committee in this part of their said Report and the same
being carried in the affirmative It is Ordered that so much [..]
the said Report as last mentioned be Confirmed and the same is hereby
Ratified and Confirmed accordingly

The said Committee further Report That up
Viewing and Examining into the unaltered part of New prison it
appears that the Womens Ward and the Keepers House are greatly on [..]
of Repair It is the Opinion of the Committee that W. Rogers do Survey
the same and Report his Opinion of what is necessary to be done in
and to the same

A Motion was made that this Court do agree [..]
the said Committee in this part of their said Report and the same
being carried in the affirmative It is Ordered that so
