not having answered our Message, it is out of our Power to know
more Particulars than what we can Collect from their or a
Minutes

The several Composicons that have been made with Persons and
Parishes, which seem to us very unequal not knowing other
Reason for Such Inequality, but that it has happned that
some of the Trustees have been Surveyors. of the Parishes
at the time of such Composicons

Very different Prizes have been given for Ballast and for
Carriage, but not knowing the Places from whence
brought and whither to be carried we are not able to
give any Opinion

Money Given to Council to know whether Coaches and Carts
Passing & repassing more than once in a day ought not to
pay more then once

General Orders have been broke into in favour to some
Trustee

The Security to Mr Sayer for £2000 lent by him to the
Turnpike expected 25th. Feb: 1717 only by 3 Trustees tho'
there were 7 then Present and the Deed dent about to be
executed by 3 more

The first Mortgage Deed to Mr Fuller Prepared and engrossed
before it was approved by the Trustees and in that manner
sent about to such Trustees as were willing to Sign
Many of them refusing to Sign it.

At the same time that the £2000 was borrowed of Mr.
Sayer at £4½ P Ct Sr. Peter Meyer offered to lend the
Money at 5th P Ct. and to take his Money at £100 a time
which the Commee think much more for the advantage of
a Turnpike

The Commee observe that Since the Passing of the Act
(which is about one Year & a half) the Tall must have
Prduced very near £4000-That the Trustees have
borrowed £2000 of Mr Fuller, £3000 of Mr Sayer, and
have given Orders for borrowing 3000 more-Besides
which the Commee cannot but observe That at their
last Meeting they have made some very extraordinary
Orders Vizt.

9th. Dec 1718

" Ordered that all Accots. be Audited"

That each Bill Stated be Signed by 5 Trustees at A
General Meeting"
