At a Vestry held 5th. September 1726

Bells

At this Vestry The Church Wardens reported That in
pursuance of the last Order of Vestry they had attended severall Gentlemen
of the Parish with a Subscripcon paper for exchangeing the sett of Old Bells for
Eight New ones and that they had acquainted them with the last order of Vestry
and with the Reasons for the makeing the same and with the Estimate of the Expense
of such New Bells And that thereupon severall of them had thought proper
to subscribe towards the same in the most generous and handsome Manner
And The Estimate of the Charge was againe submitted and laid before this
Vestry and a Contract or Agreement between Mr. Richd. Phelps< no role > Bell founde
in White Chappell was read over to them which was fully agreed to and
approved off by this Vestry and thereupon the Question was put whether
the Church Warden shod. be impowered to make and execute such Contract
with the sd. Mr. Phelps< no role > and whether if any Defeciency or Detriment shod.
arise or accrew to the Church Wardens If this Vestry wod. take Care to make
good the same to them and upon the Question being distinctly read over
and putt It passed in the Affirmative Nemine Contradicente.

Then the Church Wardens further reported to the Vestry That the Cheif
Reason that severall Gentlemen had subscribed so handsomely to the Bells
was because they expected to have Chimes to the Bells and upon full Consideracon
had of that Matter and an Estimate of the Charge being submitted to the Vestry
The Question was put whether the Churchwardens shod. be impowered to the
with Mr. Bradley or such other person or persons as they shod. think proper [..]
a Compleat Sett of Chimes to the 8 Bells to be done in the best and most handsome
Manner which was likewise agreed to by the Vestry Nemine Contradicent
and the Church Wardens were desired to continue their Subscription for the
purpose and what was deficient the Vestry agreed to make good in the [..]
Effectuall Manner.
