respectg. the Accidt.
at Prison."We the undersigned having carefully examined and Surveyed
"the Ruins of the Buildings at Bridewell Hospital which
"were to have been altered and Repaired according to sundry
"drawings and particulars made by Mr. James Lewis< no role > for that
"purpose which said drawings and particulars We have
"likewise minutely and maturely inspected and considered Are
"of opinion that the works therein specified were not only
"practicable, but what we would have undertaken and
"Executed with safety; and are also of opinion that the failure
"of the works were not occasioned by the wall not being bonded
"into the Hall Wall./

respecting Do."Robert Garton< no role > of Orange Street Red Lion Square in the
"County of Middlesex Carpenter and Joiner maketh Oath and saith
"that he was employed by Mr. James Lewis< no role > during his illness with
"the consent of the Prison Committee of Bridewell Hospital to [..]
"attend the alterations and Repairs Contracted to be done at the
"said Hospital by Mr. Samuel Sellon< no role > Snugg's and to see that the
"works were done agreeably to the plans and particulars prepaird
"by the said James Lewis< no role > And this Deponent Saith that by
"the directions of the said James Lewis< no role > he particularly desired
"the Workmen employed by the Contractor upon their beginning
"to pull down part of the Building not to lay any Bricks or
"Rubbish on the floors but to lower them all down and he
"also desired them to be careful in shoring the floors when
"they pulled down the Back front of the said Building but not
"withstanding such directions they continually did load the
"floors with very heavy weights and when any part of such
"weights were removed from a particular part they were
