Comee. dissatisfiedCalled in and examined the Superintendant as to the produce of the labor
of the Prisoners which not being satisfactory to the Committee he was
informed unless he was more attentive and regular in his account of
their work he would be dismissed

Conson of Attendce.
of Prisrs. at Chapel.Took into further consideration the suggestions of the Chaplain respecting
the attendance of the Prisoners at Chapel and the methods proper to be taken
in order to Admonish and instruct them

Resolved unanimously

First.

Duty of Chaplain.That the duties of the Chaplain as stated in Pages 29 & 30 of the
standing Rules and Orders comprehend and require in general terms every
material attention to the Persons committed to this Hospital.

SecondlyThat the Committee presuming that the Chaplain will diligently and
conscienciously discharge those several duties are of opinion That the
particular made of performing them is left to his own Judgment but
that the most important of those duties cannot be duly discharged
without the constant residence of the Chaplain at the Hospital.

ThirdlyThey are of opinion with the Chaplain That in the mean time suitable
Prayers accompanied with exhortations adapted to the condition and
