Continued Thursday 3d: Septemr 1795.

"almost immediately replaced by others and the floors were not
"in this Deponents judgment sufficiently shared to support
"such weights as were laid upon them and this Deponent repeat-
"-edly remonstrated with Mr. Snugg's Mr. Prentis who this Dept.
"believes is Mr. Snuggs's partner and Mr. Morgan the Bricklayer
"and other workmen employed in the said Work on the impropriety
"of their conduct And this Deponent further Saith that he
"desired the Contractor or his workmen repeatedly to put up
"the Story Posts and Bresummers described in the Plans and
"Particulars to secure the floors and Walls which was neglected
"to be done And this Deponent made repeated complaints [..]
"respecting the manner in which the work was doing and the
"materials that were using in consequence of which some of
"such materials were changed And this Deponent further
"saith that finding his remonstrances ineffectual he complained
"to Mr. Lewis who wrote a Letter to Mr. Snuggs on the 3d. day of
"June last which this Deponent delivered to one of the Workmen
"on the premises and in a few minutes after he saw Mr. Snuggs
"who acknowledged the receipt of the Letter and this Deponent
"then requested him again from Mr. Lewis to remove all the
"Bricks and Rubbish from off the floors and to put the Story
"Posts and Bresummers up as the Girders were very much bent
"by the Loads which were laid upon the floors to which Mr.
"Snuggs said that he would not be tied down to finish any
"part of the work first that he had taken the Contract to
"finish the work in a limited time and he should proceed
"as he was doing that neither Mr. Lewis is nor any Surveyor
"could desire him to do otherwise and he could not finish
"the work in time if he was tied down to finish any particular
"part first or used words to that effect and he also said he would
"call upon Mr. Lewis And this Deponent further Saith that
"he Complained to Mr. Morgan the Bricklayer that the Roofs of
"the adjoining Houses were loaded with the Tiles taken off the
"Building which was repairing and desired that the same
"might be lowered down and informed him that an Accident
"had happened from similar conduct by the former Contractors
"for Repairing the North side of the Womens Prison and
"that the damage had been repaired at their expence to
