Thursday 6th May 1736

of Assize end in depth on the West most side thereof 194 foot and half of
Assize and in depth on the Eastmost side thereof 172 foot 10 InchesAnd also
one other peice of Ground on the Northwardly side of Cinnamon Street containing in
length by Cinamon Street on the Southmost part thereof 116 foot of Assize and on the
Northmost side thereof 128 foot of Assize and in depth on the Westmost side thereof
36 foot of Assize and on the Eastmost side thereof 67 foot of assize and the houses
thereon Erected and to be ErectedTo hold from Laday then last for the Fever
of 87 years and half at £20 P Ann Rent payable QuarterlyThat all the
said premisses by several me one assignments are since become vested in the Petr. for
the reside of both the said respective Terms which expire at Michas 1763and as
great number of houses having been erected thereon at a very large expence and several
parts thereof from time to time demised by the Petr. and the persons under whom he
claims. for diverse short Term of years under several yearly Rents there are great account
of Rent now due from the said Tenants to the PetitionerThat many of the said
Houses and other the premisses are burst down and utterly consumed by the late
dreadfull fire at Wapping and others very much damaged by reason of which and
the Losses then sustained by the Petrs. Tenants, they are not able to satisfy the said
Arrears, and the residue of the said premisses being decayed buildings at small Rents
which cannot be supported for the residue of the Petrs. Term to come therein The
Petr. is desirous of adding a Term of 61 years to his time yet to come in the and
premisses, that he may be thereby enabled to rebuied the said houses or such of them
as shall be thought necessary to be rebuiltAnd praying the Governors to Grant
him such addition all Term of 61 years in the said premisses to commence from the
Expiration of the former Leases to enable him to rebuild the premissesIt
is Ordered that it be referred to the Committee of this House to consider of the
said Petition and to report their Opinion therein to the Court.

Upon reading the humble Petition of William Blakewey< no role > settingforthThat the
Governors of this Hospital by Indre dated 5th. May 1676 demised to Gregery Page< no role >
(int al) a peice of Ground or Soil scituate on the Northwardly side of Cinnamen Street
containing in length by Cinamen Street on the Southmost part thereof from the
Tenements of John Wellborne< no role > on the East to a new Ally then lately made by St.
William Warren< no role > on the East 116 foot of Assize and in length on the Northmost
side thereof by three Cants or stright lines (Vizt.) from John Willborne< no role > on the West side
to the first Cant Eastward 36 foot of Assize and from thence inclining Eastward 12 foot of
Assize and from thence inclining to the aforesaid Ally 80 foot of Assize and containing in
depth on the Westmost side thereof from Cinnamon Street on the South to the Common
Sewer on the North 36 foot of Assize little more or less and containing in depth on the
Eastmost side thereof from Cinnamon Street on the South to the said Common Server on
the North 67 foot of AssizeTo hold from Ladyday then last for the Term of
87 years and an half at the yearly Rent of £20-10.for the above piece and
two other peices in the said Indenture described payable quarterlyThat the
Premes afterwards became vested in Sr. Anthony Dean< no role > and by several mesne
Assignments the peice of Ground abovementioned is now become vested in the Petr. for
the residue of the said Term which Expires at Mich 1763That he hath crested or
caused to be Erected thereon Eight houses six of which have been utterly consumed by the
late readfull fire there, and the rest very much damagedThat he hath sustained
great Loss by the said Fire and proposes to lay out £800. and upwards in
rebuilding the said HousesAnd praying the Govrs. mould take his case into
Consideration and grant him such Additional Term or give him such other relief
in the premises as to them should seem meetIt is Ordered that it be
referred to the Committee of this House to consider of the said Petition and to
report their Opinion the rein to the Court.
