Apprentices to be free


At this Court the persons hereunder named were Ordered to be made free of this
City having served their Appreticeships in this Hospital to the Artsmasters hereunder
mentioned Vizt.

John Tayler< no role > Esqr . one of the Governors of this Hospital reporting to this Court that in
pursuance of an Order of Court the 13th. Novr. last He and Mr. Thomas Nash< no role > another of the
Governors of this Hospital had made Enquiry and found that Enoch Dunkerley< no role > who served
his Apprenticeship in this Hospital is set up for himself in the Trade of a Weaver and hath
the Character of a diligent and sober Man It is Ordered that the Steward of this
Hospital do give and pay unto the said Enoch Dunkerley< no role > Ten pounds out of Mr. Locks Gift
to be allowed him in his next Account.

Beadles Gra ½ year to Xmas
1735}


Upon reading the humble Petition of the four Beadles and Petersman of this Hospital
for their usual Gratuitys of Forty shillings a peice in respect of the half year ending
at Christmas last for that their Salarys are but small It is Ordered that the Clerk of
these Hospitals do give and pay unto them Forty shillings a peice to be allowed him in his
next Account.

Basketmen Gra ½ year
to Xmas 1735}


Upon reading the humble Petition of the three Beadles or Basketmen of the Hospital of
Bethlem for their usual Gratuitys of Twenty Shillings a peice in respect of the half
year ending at Christmas last for that their Salarys are but small It is Ordered
That the Clerk of these Hospitals do give and pay unto them Twenty shillings a peice
to be allowed him in his next Account.

At this Court the following poor Boys were Ordered to be put out Apprentices
at the Nomination of the several Governors hereafter named Vizt.

This Court being acquainted that Benjamin Potter< no role > by and with the licence &
consent of the Governors of this Hospital by Indenture dated the 9th. of February 1732
bound himself apprentice to James Lipscomb< no role > Weaver late one of the Artsmaster of
this Hospital who hath since left the Hospital without any provision made for his
said Apprentice, and that the said Benjamin Potter< no role > hath new an Opportunity of
providing for himself in case his Indentures should be cancelled, which he and his
friends now here in Court are desirous to have doneWhereupon the said Indres
were accordingly cancelled in Court.

This Court being acquainted That Sr. William Boreman< no role > Knight deceased
having by his Will made many years ago given a Legacy of £50. to Bridewell
Hospital, a Bill was brought in the high Court of Chancery In the name of the
Drapers Company and others Plaintiffs against Elizabeth Yardley< no role > and others
Defendants praying that the Estate of the said Sr. William Boreman< no role > might be sold
for payment of his Debts and Legacysand that by a Decree made on the
hearing the said Cause the 10th. day of July in the 9th year of Queen Anno the said
Estate was Ordered to be sold for that purposeAnd that in pursuance of the
said Decree and several Reports and subsequent Orders made in the said Court
