1737and 5 other Messuages there (No. 5) formerly let to Richard Wyith. and the
ground whereon the same are built and the Yards thereto belonging and to pull
down the said Messuages and to rebuild thereon seven houses according to the second
rate of Building in LondonAnd to take a Lease or Leases thereof for 61 years
from Midsummer last at a Pepper Corn Rent for the first year and for the residue
of the Term at the yearly Rent of £20. payable quarterly clear of all Taxes (but
subject to the said Lease to Betts, the Rent whereof is to be paid to the said Gibbs
from Midsummer last) and with such Covenants as are usually contained in the
Leases from the said Governors to their Tenants and to pay a Fine of £50. down
and to execute Counterparts of the said LeasesThis Comittee are of Opinion to
accept the proposal of the said Mr. GibbsWhereupon he gave a Guinea to the
Poors boxAll which nevertheless is submitted to the Judgment of the CourtAnd
it is Ordered that this Opinion be reported to the next CourtThis Court
doth confirm the said Report and Order that Leases be made to him accordingly.
