take a new Lease of the Woodyard reaching from King Edward's Street
to the Ditchside
lately
held by him under a Lease (No. 31) at the yearly Rent of £10. payable quarterly clear of all
TaxesAnd also of a House and Wharf to the Ditchside abatting South on Newby and
a Stable at the South End Corner of King Edwards Street lately held by him under a Lease
(No. 36) at the Rent of £12-10.P AnnAnd also of two houses in Bridewell Precinct
one the Crooked Billet
, the other the next house Northward or part of it lately held by him
under a Lease (No. 37) at the Rent of £4. P Annm from the expiration of his said last
Leases for the Term of 21 years at the same Rents (making in all £26.10.P Ann)
payable quarterly clear of Taxes and with such Covenants as are usually contained in the
Leases from the said Governors to their Tenants and to pay a Fine of £450. and to execute
Counterparts of such LeasesThis Comittee are of Opinion to accept of the said
proposal Whereupon the said Mr. Appleby gave two Guineas to the Poors bee And it
is Ordered that this Opinion be reported to the next Court All which nevertheless
is submitted to the Judgment of the CourtThis Court doth confirm the said
Report and order that [..] Leases be made to the said Mr. Appleby accordingly.

words and figures following Vizt.This Comittee took into consideration their
Report of the 25th. of March last and the Order of the 27th. of the same Month made
thereupon, whereby it is referred to this Comittee to see which of the Gratuitys Salarys
& Wages are fit to be increased or lessned And this Comittee having examined into the
Wages of the Porter & Servants find that the Wages paid to each of them respectively
are as follows Vizt.

And your Comittee finding their respective Wages to be unequal to their Trust since the
prequisites they claimed have been taken from them and which were raised from the friends
of the patients in general without distinction and it appearing that many Parishes get
their distracted Inhabitants admitted in this Hospital which is a great case to such parishes
who are generally able to pay for the Maintenance of their own poor Your Comittee are
of Opinion that parish officers shall be obliged to pay upon the Admittance of any of their
Inhabitants the Sum of 10s for each to the Steward to be by him put into the Servts.
box And that the Monthly Comittees for the time being at the opening of the box do
thereout increase the said Servants Wages in such proportions as they shall think proper
And your Comittee are further of Opinion that if any of the aforesaid Servants shall
at any time presume to demand or use any Method to obtain any Gratuity fee or Reward
upon the Admittance or discharge of any Patient whatsoever that such Servant ought
to be imediately dismissed from the Service of this Hospital All which nevertheless is
submitted to the Judgment of the Court having duly weighed and considered of the said
Report doth Confirm the same.
