Ordered that Anne Cole< no role > Widow of Thomas Cole< no role > late Portersman of this
Hospital do officiate in the place of her said husband till Michaelmas next and that she
have the Quarters Salary and other perquisites then due for the same.

Upon reading the several humble Petitions of John Brown< no role > , Thomas
Cleaver< no role > , Richard Darlington< no role > , William Dickinson< no role > and Jonathan Keate< no role > for one of
them to be Portersman of this Hospital (in the room of Thomas Coles< no role > deceased )
and they being Richard Darlington< no role > Whereupon It is Ordered that the
said Richard Darlington< no role > (upon delivering a Certificate of his Settlement and
giving such Security as is usual in the like case) be admitted Portersman of this
Hospital untill the next Election day and that he have such Appartment as the
Comittee of this house shall think fitt.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Anne Coles< no role > Widow and Relict of
Thomas Cole< no role > late Portersman in this Hospital settingforthThat her said late
Husband served in the said Office near Ten years and hopes to the Governors
satisfactionThat the profits of the said place have been but very small being
not sufficient to maintain her and her said late husband and familyThat she
is very poor and has four small Children to provide for and as she will be obliged to
quit her Appartment in this Hospital to make room for the person who is to succeed
her said late Husband she will be intirely destitute of all means to support herself
unless releived by the GovernorsThat part of the Garrett of the Appartment late
of Obediah West< no role > had stood empty ever since he quitted it which is about years ago
and praying that the Governors will be pleased to take her case into consideration
and to permitt her to dwell in the said Appartment during the pleasure of the Court
It is Ordered that the said Petition be referred to the Comittee of this House
who are desired to make their Report therein to the Court.

Upon reading the humble Petition of Stephen RoomSettingforth That
Richard Strowd< no role > in the year 1720 held by Lease from Margaret Saunders< no role > a peice of
Wast Ground lying between Fowks Court and Water Lane in Towerstreet whereon
he was to build one or more Messuages applyed to the Governors of this Hospital
to have a Lease of a Door way from the said Tenements (when built) in Fowk's Court
for the Term of 56 years from Christmass then lastThat by an Order of Court
of the 10th. March 1720 It was Ordered that a Lease should be made of such doorway
to the said Richard Strowd< no role > for the Term of 21 years at 40s P Annm Rent dear of
Taxes Subject to the Corenants and Provisoes in the said Order mentionedThat
by Indenture dated 30th. Novr. 1721 made between said Richard Strowd< no role > of the one
part and Robert Sopp< no role > of the other partthe said Richard Strowd< no role > did declare
that his name in the said Lease was only used In Trust for the said Sopp his
Executors Administrators and Assigns and did accordingly assign over the premisses
to the said Mr. Sopp for the remainder of his Term thereinThat the premes
are since by meane assignments become vested in the Petr.That the Lease of
the Doorway granted for 21 years will expire at Christmass 1741 and the Petr.
having a Term of forty years yet to come in the premissesAnd praying an
Additional Term of 40 years in the said Doorway to commence from Christmass
nextIt is Ordered that it be referred to the Committee of this House
to consider of the said Petition and to report their Opinion therein to the Court.
