of the Committee of Justices of the peace
for the Said County
appointed to contract with or take a contract from
Artificers for the new building of Brentford Bridge
in this
County, and to act with them therein or in other matters
referred by Order of Sessions to the Same Committee.

Whereas Proposalls have been made by one or more Artificers
to the Committee of
his Majesty< no role >
's Justices of the peace
for this
County appointed by Order of Sessions to contract with or take
a contract from Such Artificers for the new Building of
Brentford Bridge
with brick & Stone according to a plan or
Design laid before them by Mr. Charles Labelye, But it
appearing to this Court that it will be too late in the Season to
enter upon the building the aforesaid Bridge this Summer
And Some difficultys having arisen concerning what
power the Justices of the peace
of Middx
. have by vertue of
the late Act of Parliament for the more easy assessing
collecting and levying of County Rates, to contract for
building the Said Bridge, And It being also apprehended
that the Said
BridgeJustices have not power by vertue of
the Said Act or any other Law to build a House of Correction
for the County of Middx
This Court is of opinion And doth
resolve to past pone the entring into any contract with
workmen at present for building the Said Bridge, But doth
think & adjudge it requisite And doth thereupon Order that
it be And It is hereby recomended and referred unto the said
Committee (to wit) Sr.
