By Adjornmt. on Thursday the 17th. day of April 1740

Order that the Sum of £10
be allowed & paid for
looking after the Clock
in the Great Dineing Room
at Hicks hall and to be paid
every year for the future
for looking after the Same}

It is Ordered by this Court that the Sum of ten Shillings for
the Expence which Mr. Thomas Northcote< no role > the Housekeeper of
Hicks hall hath been at for looking after and taking care of
the Clock in the Great Dineing Room at Hicks hall aforesaid
be paid to him by Mr. John Higgs< no role > the Treasurer of this County
And that the receipt of the said Mr. Northcote< no role > together with
this Order shall be a sufficient discharge to the said Treasurer
for Such payment, And It is further Ordered by this Court
that the yearly Sum of ten Shillings be for the future
allowed (as formerly it was) for looking after and taking
care of the said Clock, and that the same be paid every
year by the Treasurer of the said County without any
application to be made to the Court of Sessions in that
behalf, And that the Treasurer be reimbursed and allowed
the same in his account.

order that a Gen Green
Cloath be provided for the
Table in the Second Dineing
Room of Hicks hall}

His Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace for this County assembled
in Sessions taking notice that the woollen Table cloath,
which covereth the table in the Second Dineing Room of
Hicks hall , is by length of time become old rusty & indecent
Do Order that a Green cloath be provided for the aforesaid
Table in the Diening Room aforesaid.

Order for allowing a Sum

Little room or clossett next
to the Kitchen at Hicks hall ,
But Mr. Northcote the
Housekeeper is to beare
& defray the residue of
the charge of enlargeing
the same if it amounts
to more}

Whereas Mr. Thomas Northcote< no role > Housekeeper of Hicks hall
in St. John Street in this County hath informed this Court
that he is put to great incovenience by reason of the
Smallness & narrowness of the Little room or clossett next to
the Kitchen in Hicks hall aforesaid, And the said Mr. Northcote< no role >
praying that this Courtwill be pleased to Order that the said
Little room or closett may be enlarged, and that a Sum of
money may be allowed to defray the charge of doing the
same, It is Ordered by this Court that the said Mr. Northcote< no role >
be at liberty to cause the said Little room or clossett to be
enlarged and to take care that the work in & about doing
the Same be performed in a Substantial & workman like
manner, And that the Sum of five pounds and five Shillings
be allowed for & towards the enlargeing the little room or clossett as
aforesaid, But if that Sum be not Sufficient to defray the whole charge
thereof the said Mr. Northcote< no role > is to bear & defray the residue of the
charge at his own costs & expence.
