Order for the Comittee of
accounts to peruse & inspect
the Bill of costs of Mr. John
Higgs in relation to the
Representation of the
Justices of the peace of
Middx to the Lord high
Chancellor agt. Thos. Robe< no role >
Esqr . Etc}

Whereas a Representation was made Sometime Since by
his Maties Justices of the peace for this County assembled in
Sessions to the right honble. the Lord high Chancellor of
Great Britain against Thomas Robe< no role > Esqr . a Justice of the
peace of the Said County complaining against him
concerning the matters Specifyed in the Said Representation,
And the Said Mr. Robe haveing putt in his Answer thereto
the Justices replyed thereto, to which Replication the Said Mr.
Robe put in a Rejoynder, and the Justices put in a
Surrejoynder thereto, And the Said Mr. Robe also filed Several
affidavits with the Secretary of the Said Lord Chancellor,
which the Said Mr. Robe had procured on his own behalf,
And the matter of the Said Representation & other pleadings
was by his Lordship directed to be Sett down amongst
the petitions and to be heard before his Lordship, and
hath Stood in his Lordships paper for a considerable time,
Now upon information given unto this Court that a
considerable Sum of money is due unto Mr. John Higgs< no role >
(who hath been concerned as Sollicitor for the Justices of
the peace in the aforesaid matter) for moneys by him
disbursed for Councells Fees, copys of the Said pleadings &
affidavits put in on behalf of Mr. Robe, & other expences,
and for his fees in & about the mannagement of the Said
affaire, It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is
hereby recomended & referred unto the Committee of his
Maties Justices of the peace of this County appointed to
take the publick accounts (to wit) John Milner< no role > Esqr . Sr . John
Austen
< no role > Bart. Sr . Henry penrice< no role > Knt . Sr. John Gouson< no role > Knt.
Nicholas Jeffreys< no role > James Clitherow< no role > Esqrs . Sr . Thomas Abney< no role >
