The Information of Joseph Strutt< no role > of
Swallow sd: Sd..George Hanover Square
in the Pity & Liberty of Westminster taken
before me Geo. Reid< no role > Esquire one of His
Majesty Justices of the Peace Acting in & for
the said County City & Liberty this 10th Day
of Novr. 1788.

Joseph Strutt< no role > who being duly sworn upon his Oath saith
that he has been some time acquainted with a Joseph Gardiner< no role >
one of the People called Quakers who is a Taylor by Trade and [..]
a shop in Swallour Street in the Parish of Saint George Hanover
Square & that the said Joseph Gardiner< no role > Fellows his Trade and
usually dwells & Sleeps in the said Shop that [..]
Fortnight ago the said Shop was broke open & attempted
to be robber, wherefore last Night being the 9th.. of Inst,,
the said Joseph Gardiner< no role > having Occasion to go out in the
Evening left this Informant in the care of & to watch
the said shop third about a Quarter before Six in the Evening
he was concealed therein for that purpose that about ten
Minutes after Gardiner was Gone who had first locked
this Informant in 8 taken this Key he heard somebody
trying at the Door, upon which thathe contrived & last
and privately to see what it was when he saw the person
now present who calls himself John Williams< no role > walting
backward and forwards before the Shop if being Moon together
that this Informant remained fined when in about five
Minutes he heard the Door of the said Shop unlock
upon which the said John Williams< no role > came into the said
shop when this Informant Immediately endeavoured to
sigg him. but missing his hold he ran away this Informant
directly pursued him never Lost sight of him, and
caused him at about one Hundred Yards from the said
shop
