of the Parish of Enfield
in the
County of Middlesex
taken before me this 4th. day
of Septemr. 1783.
Who being on Oath say and first the said Richard Hubbard< no role >
says
that, between the hours of twelve and three in the Morning of the 14th.
of July 1782 three or more Persons burglariously broke open
his House Situate at Hadley That three Persons came to this
Informant Bed side (in which were Himself and his Wife)
armed with Pistols and other Weapons, and one of which Persons
this Informant is very sure was a Person now present who
calls himself John Pilkington< no role >
; who used many dreadful Impre
cations as well as his Companions, and robbed this Informants
house of some Silver Plate Womens Apparell and about
two Guineas and some Silver. And this Informant [..]
Mary Hubbard< no role >
for herself says that she was in Bed with
her said Husband at this time and is very sure that the said
John Pilkington< no role >
is one of the said Robbers, and that he
stood by her Bed side during the time that his Companions
were rifling and plundering her House, with a Pistol in
his hand.
