The Information of Timothy Lacy< no role > taken
the 4th. day of August 1783.

Who upon his Oath Saith That about the hour of
6. o Clock this Evening Two Men came into the Shop of Mr.
William Ricard Worrall< no role > in Saint Giles in the fields and Bargained
for some Wearing Apparell and that having occasions to be
absent for a few Minutes he left the said Two Men in
the Warehouse up one pair of Stairs while he went
up the Two pair of Stairs room to get a Waistcoat
altered for one of the said Men, That when he
Returned he observed the Colour of a Bordered Waistcoat
in an Inside Pocket under the Coat of one of the Men
and having acquainted him of his suspicions the other
Man ran away and made his Escape and the other Man
Ran down Stairs and Endeavoured so to do but this
Informant pursued him and had him Secured

That in Endeavouring to make his Escape he dropt
One White Bordered Waistcoat which this Informant
picked up and which is of the Value of 5s. And he
also saw him Drop a Black Saffin Waistcoat which
was Picked up by John Carfoot< no role > and which is of the
Value of Twelve Shillings And this Informant
Saith That the person who feloniously stole the said two
Waistcoats as aforesaid says his Name is [..]
is James Mackey< no role > and that he is a Soldier in the Guards
