Oath before me one of his Majestys Justices of
the Peace
the 2nd. Day of January 1782
And first this Informant Richard Ludgate< no role >
for
himself Saith That about the hour of 2: o Clock this
day he met with one Samuel Lamb< no role >
in Shorts Gardens
Durry Lane who had in his possession a Large Green Cushion
and this Information knowing the said Samuel Lamb< no role >
to be a person of bad fame Stopped him and Task
him before a Justice
And this Information Robert Thompson< no role >
for himself Saith That the Cushion now produced
is his property and was Stolen from his Shop Situate
No. 38 in Drury Lane
in the parish of Saint Martin
in the fields
and this Informant further Saith That
he saw the said Cushion in a Phaeton which was
Standing in his Shop a Court the hour of 12. o Clock this
day and that it is of the Value of 20 Shillings
