The Information of John Bargello< no role >
taken before us three [..] of his Majestys
Justices of the peace in and for the
said County

Who being upon Oath saith that on Saturday
last the 25th of January inst a person now present
who calls herself James Burham an applied to
this Informt. on board her Ship then lying upon the
Navigable River Thomas called the Nuova
[..] in order to go to Venice that after some
Conversation they went together into his Cabin
where this Informt. Chest was when she asked
him what he had got in his Chest when he opened
it & told her it was only Cloaths but seeing a
little box in one Corner of his Chest she asked
what was in there when he opened it and pulled
out a purse in which was Thirty seven Guineas
in Gold whist he showed to her and then this
Informt. and the sd. Buchanan came on show
together and went to the said Buchanan's
Lodgings that when he returned on board
his Ship in the Evening he found his Chest had
been Opened and the purse together with the
Thirty Seven Guineas had been feloniously
taken and Carryed away when upon Enquires
who had been on board and in his Cabinet
his Absence was Informed by the people
of the Vessel that no person had been there but
the sd. Buchanan from which Circumstances
he verily believes and strongly suspects that
the said James Buchanan< no role > and no other person
committed the felony as aforesd
