Examination TextSusannah Fountaine aged 60 years and upwards lodging at Mr Houlton's a Victualler at the sign of the Duke of Marlborough's Head the corner of Middlesex Court in Drury Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Fountaine (who has been dead five years last April) to whom she was married after the manner of the Church of Rome in Lincolns Inn Fields Chapel 40 years ago, that he was a Japanner by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Daniel, a Japanner near Errington's in Long Acre in the Parish aforesaid and there served his said Master all the said term out which expired about 42 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together after, nor hath she this Examinant since the death of her said husband. Sworn the seventh Day of June 1751 before James Fraser.
