Examination TextElizabeth Pinner aged about 50 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Pinner (who has been dead about six years) to whom she was married at house (known by the name of Noah's Ark) within the liberties of the Fleet about 27 years ago, that he was a Waterman by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to his Father Edward Pinner, a Waterman in Salisbury Street in the Strand in the Parish aforesaid and there served all the time out which expired about 27 years ago, since which time he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes, that she hath two children living by her said husband to wit Sarah aged about 21 years, a yearly hired servant to Mrs Taylor a Taylor near the sign of the Lebeck head in Holborn with whom she has lived for the space of one year and a half at the yearly wages of 3 pounds diet and lodging, and Alice aged about 20 years, bound an apprentice to Mr Franklyn, shop keeper at Oxford, that she this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or been a yearly hired servant in any one place since the death of her said husband. Taken in the workhouse the fourth Day of June 1751.
