Examination TextThe Examination of Sarah Bulley singlewoman lodging at Mr Stewart's in Moors Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken upon oath this seventh Day of June 1751. This Examinant on her oath saith she is about 21 years of age and never was married, and that she was in the month of November which was in the year of our Lord 1749 delivered of a Male bastard child (since christened James) at the house of Mrs Read in Rose Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, which said male bastard child is yet living and become chargeable to the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that James Morris a Woollen Draper in Russell Street in the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden had carnal knowledge of her body in the month of February in the said year 1749 at the house of Mrs Lynch in Silver Street in White Fryers London in and upon a bed in a room up one pair of stairs backwards there and several times afterwards at the same place at which or one of which times he the said James Morris did beget on her body the said male bastard child, and that he the said James Morris is the true and only father thereof and no man else. Sworn the day and year abovesaid before James Fraser, Edward Ashe.
